Vocational Standards Review Evaluations

        As is known, the Vocational Qualifications Authority (MYK) is establishing and operating the national qualification system within the framework of the Presidential Decree No. 4, published in the Official Gazette dated 15.07.2018 and numbered 30479, determining national occupational standards and national qualifications, and carrying out measurement, evaluation, and certification activities related to national qualifications. Occupational standards are prepared by institutions and organizations assigned by MYK or by established working groups. 

         In this context, a "National Occupational Standard Preparation Cooperation Protocol" was signed between MYK and Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University on 25.11.2024. With the signed protocol, the process of preparing the national occupational standard has begun. 

         The draft occupational standard prepared by our University, authorized within the framework of the relevant legislation by MYK, is recognized as the National Occupational Standard (UMS) in three steps. The draft occupational standard is submitted for the opinion of relevant stakeholders (relevant public institutions, workers, employers, professional organizations, education providers, examination and certification organizations, etc.). The opinions and suggestions received are reviewed, evaluated, and transferred to the draft standard by the organization. The final draft opinion evaluation report is submitted to MYK. The draft standard is examined, evaluated, and verified in the relevant MYK sector committee formed in a tripartite structure. The standard verified in the relevant MYK sector committee gains UMS status after the approval of the MYK Board of Directors and is published in the Official Gazette.
